Project Management Institute is the world’s leading not-for-profit professional membership association for the project, program and portfolio management profession. Poland Chapter is existing since 2003. The association was founded in response to the needs of the Polish market related to professional project management. The founders of PMI in Poland are either directors, project managers of polish and international business and academic organizations, as well independent consultants too. The huge interest in either Project Management and the organization itself has allowed to extend the range of activities for the entire country. Since 8 May 2007 the association operates as PMI Poland Chapter (PMI Polish Branch) and transformed its structure setting up initially 6 branches: in Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw, Wroclaw and Lodz. In 2010, there was established a branch in Lubuskie complementing current PMI organizational structure. In December 2013 were established three new branches: Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Katowice and Bialystok. Currently, PMI Poland Chapter consists of 10 regional offices.
